Short Italian Artillery Sword, M1825

Short Italian Artillery Sword, M1825 So-called ‘Glaive’. In neoclassical 'Gladius' style. The heavy gilt bronze smooth hilt in one piece with smooth pommel and small horizontal guard. Guard decorated in relief with palm decoration on either side. Smooth double edged blade. The sword has a bronze mounted black leather scabbard. Kort Italiaans Artillerie Zwaard, M1825 Zgn. ‘Glaive’ met massieve bronzen greep. Het zwaard met brede, dubbelsnijdige kling en zwartlederen schede met messing monturen. Lengte: 65 cm. [II]
