18e eeuwse koloniale mahoniehouten theekist. Nederlands-Indië, ca. 1780. Rechthoekig met schuinoplopend en scharnierend deksel, waarop een zilveren greep, gemonteerd op rozetvormige monturen. Om de kist zilveren parelranden, filet- en ajourgezaagde banden. In de kist twee zware rechthoekige zilveren theecontainers, Losse deksels waarop parelrand, gegoten rozetten, bekroond met pijnappelvormige knoppen. Op de bodem gemerkt met onbekend meesterteken "I E". (gewicht 802 gram). Afmeting kistje 15 x 20½ x 13½ cm.
